Somethin’ Different: the mixtape is a journey through years of Black art, time, and sound to talk about some heavy shit. We’re using rap as public riot, beats to talk about the bullshit, claiming the justice and joy we deserve, and using art as the main activation.

Volume One focuses on how Power, Pleasure, Relationships, and Money show up in our lives. Can we challenge the status quo? Are we even aware of what we’re doing wrong?

With all art, everything is up to interpretation. Some of these songs are satire, but some are dead serious. Can you separate the mockery from what’s written about our collective mistakes? What do you agree with? What pills are hard to swallow? This is all a public discussion, but it only works if you join the conversation.
